What is this site about?
Bored with the same Facebook layout? Personalize it by creating your own layout, just select a theme and your favorite background using our cutting edge layout editor! An integrated image search facility simplifies the process of combining the web for the ideal killer background image.
You can then combine your chosen background wallpapers with any of over 50,000 user-submitted themes to create a personal, expressive layout fuss free, quickly and without having to deal with messy HTML code. Then with our special toolbar, your layout will be virtually overlaid on top of your Facebook page using your browser. There is no effect on the underlying page and you can easily change your layout anytime.
- Why should I customize my Facebook page?
It's just like decorating your own room. Why not surround yourself with things you love? Just because Facebook has only one boring layout does not mean you need to be stuck with it. You have a freedom to make it look whatever you want it to be.
- How do I become a member of CoolChaser?
Facebook lets us remove our own registration process by enabling you to log in our site with your Facebook account. Simply click on "login with Facebook" and you are good to go!
-
So...How do I get this layout on my profile?
Facebook does not allow custom CSS to be inserted directly to their site. So after you create your layout, you will be prompted to download a toolbar that will inject the layout code virtually on top of the page. After you have the toolbar, you can switch layouts anytime and also view other friends' profiles who use CoolChaser layouts.
-
How do I remove the layout from my profile?
You can remove it by either hitting the "trash" link on your homepage, under the "Selected Layout."

Or by uninstalling the ToolBar (see the instructions here.)
-
How do I delete my account with you?
You can go to Facebook, click on "Account" -> "Application Settings" -> "CoolChaser" (or click this link) and click on the "x" to remove our app from your list. To uninstall the ToolBar, see the instructions here.
-
How can I still get the code? I used CoolChaser for other social networks sites.
We no longer officially support layout codes; however there is a workaround if you are trying to get just a code:
- Go to our layout editor
- After saving the layout, hover over the “edit” link and get the layout ID
- Then paste the layout ID where the XXX is in this link: http://www.coolchaser.us/l/preview/XXX/myspace
- Copy the code and use it on the site that is compatible with MySpace layouts code.
-
I'm a MySpace user who used this site to customize my MySpace layouts. How can I see my past layouts and themes?
Due to the new MySpace change, MySpace layouts will no longer be supported on CoolChaser. Read more here. You may still use your existing MySpace layouts you created with us if you still have Profile 1.0; however, you cannot edit or create new MySpace layouts.
You can sign in to your old CoolChaser account from here.

This may be happening because your Firefox version is too old. Please upgrade to the latest version and see if it makes a difference. Troubleshooting
Layouts, layouts, layouts!
-
Your layout sucks.
LOL this was an actual feedback we got for real! I don't know which layout he/she was talking about but here's some tips to make a layout that is not sucky. :)
- Fuzzy image? You can add "wallpaper" to the search query, for example you can type in "beyonce wallpaper" and
you will get good quality background images which are very well designed too.
- Try to match the right theme. If it's a girly background, butterfly theme would work,
but industrial theme won't. Also, if you have a dark background, avoid the
xray black theme and vice versa (white text on white background) or the text will be illegible.
- Use engines wisely. For celebrities, try using Bing™ or Google for better results (with "wallpaper" again for better quality).
For abstract words like "cats", "grunge", "urban", "skateboard" Flickr will give you better results.
-
How do I get the background image to cover the whole screen?
You can repeat the background, or use a background color that blends into the background image you chose.
Themes, themes, themes!
